The University Strategic Planning Committee is a sub-committee of the Executive Committee. Among its responsibilities are the continuous strategic planning and review of areas of academic excellence. The 2009-10 committee is charged with:
. . . updating the 2007 – 2010 University Strategic Plan. The Committee should prepare the 2009 –
2012 plan. The Committee should analyze the entire 2007 – 2010 plan and
recommend changes in the plan as appropriate. In particular, the Committee should focus on the proposed Formula for Higher Education Funding
currently under development by the Louisiana Board of Regents, changes in
the external environment
that may change the focus of the 2007 – 2010 plan,
and the increased emphasis on student recruitment and retention and facilities.
Strategic Plan for 2009-2012. The annual planning cycle began in December 2008 and the results will be released Fall 2009. In July, a survey of the draft plan was released to the UNO community for comment. While the 2007-2010 plan incorporated recovery initiatives that addressed the realities of a post-Katrina environment, this revision will focus on ways to better situate the university to address matters of recruitment, retention and degree completion in a rapidly changing economic environment.
University Mission Statement Revision. The Committee updated the Mission Statement in February 2004 and it was approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors on June 4, 2004 (Item 9D4 in the minutes).
