The University Strategic Planning Committee is a sub-committee of the Executive Committee. Among its responsibilities are the continuous planning and review of areas of academic excellence. Its charge is:
"to develop the University's strategic plan for the next five years. In that plan, there should be two broad areas addressed. First, the Committee should identify which academic areas will be ... developed into regionally and nationally competitive programs. Once that determination is made, then the Committee must identify what those programs need to become regionally or nationally competitive. Next, the Committee must identify those University-wide initiatives that contribute to and help sustain academic excellence. Those will include, for example, oversight of the Quality Enhancement Plan, admissions standards, retention strategies, an Honors College, faculty pay, tuition policies, and facilities." |
